GIRLFRIENDS…women of influence
Melinda Shaffett Melinda serves as chair for Girlfriends. She has attended Freedom House Church for 30 plus years. She is married to Todd and they have triplet boys under the age of 2 (Ian, Caleb, and Brennan). Melinda is the Executive Director of a non-profit organization that works on behalf of people with developmental disabilities. She leads music for both the New Breed and New Creations children’s ministries. She and her husband are Life Net Leaders. Her most recent assignment is Girlfriends…women of influence. She is committed to this ministry and…Girlfriend; she wants you to be a part of it!
Tammy Brewer Tammy is co-chair of Girlfriends. She has been a member of Freedom House Church for her entire life. She is married to Brian and they have two children: Cade, 3 1/2 and Emily Grace, 2. Tammy is a Speech Pathologist in the St. Tammany Parish School System. She teaches both New Breed and New Creations classes. Tammy is extremely compassionate and desires to see this ministry propel. God has given Tammy another new vision for our church in which she will share with you in time. For now, she desires to share her heart with her Girlfriends.
Karen Lavigne Karen is Secretary for Girlfriends. She has been a member of Freedom House Church her entire life. She is married to James and they have 2 children: Magon and Taylor. Karen is the Secretary for Freedom House Church. Karen’s job, by nature, keeps her very involved in every aspect of ministry. In addition to this very important role, she sings on the Freedom House Praise Team and works on special projects throughout the church. Karen is our Church Clerk as well. She truly is a treasure of a friend and invites you to be a part of our ministry.
Danita Fauntleroy Danita is Treasurer for Girlfriends. She and her family are members of Freedom House Church. She is married to Kevin and they have 2 children: Abby and Kyle. Danita is a Kindergarten Teacher in the St. Tammany Parish School System. She teaches New Breed on rotating Sundays, teaches young ladies on Wednesdays, and plays Keyboard in the Freedom House Band. Kevin and Danita are Life Net Leaders. She is extremely active in the church and with her Girlfriends. She is practical, organized and financially minded. Her talents and gifts are wonderful traits but you will find her qualities for friendship to exceed them all. .
Joanna Leonard Joanna is Historian for Girlfriends. She has been a member of Freedom House Church for most of her life. She is married to Kevin. They have 3 children: Mason, Kathan, and Jaden. She has had the privilege to be at home with her children and to work along side her husband in their own business. Joanna sings on the Freedom House Praise Team, is active with the church Drama Team, works in the Craft Department for both New Breed and New Creations, and wherever she is needed in the church. She truly has a heart for the Lord and a knowing that there is always something more. Join Joanna in finding your place in Girlfriends.
Theresa Hammond Theresa serves as Senior Co-Pastor for both Freedom House Church and Girlfriends. She is married to our Senior Pastor, Jeff Hammond. They have 4 children: Wade, Derek, Andrea, and Ashley. Theresa has a multitude of gifts and talents. She uses her talent to lead the Freedom House Band and Praise Team each week. The music of Freedom House Church will elevate you into the throne room of God if you will allow it. Theresa is one that represents a candle. You can see her clearly in the midst of your darkest hour. She is a silent champion with a voice and heart that truly sings.
Tiffany Williams Tiffany is our Chaplain. She and her family are members of Freedom House Church. Tiffany is married to Brandon. They have three children: Brandon, Ariana, and Sherman. Tiffany is a Homemaker in every since of the word. When you meet Tiffany, you will find that she radiates love for her family and love for you. Tiffany teaches our young ladies on Wednesday nights. She and her family are involved in just about everything that our church offers. She has a continued desire for more of our Lord, Jesus Christ. And…she has a desire to meet you, her next Girlfriend! Kathy Gancarcik Kathy is our Food and Beverage Coordinator. She and her family are active members in Freedom House Church. Kathy is married to Steve and they have 3 children: Stephen, Sean, and Katelyn. Kathy’s role is obvious to all that know her. She works in the Food and Beverage Department for the St. Tammany Parish School System and is an Entrepreneur in her industry. Steve and Kathy are Life Net Leaders. Kathy continually prepares meals and goodies appropriate for every occasion. Her goodies are truly heavenly and she would love for you to taste and see that the Lord is good.
Missie Hopkins Missie is our Outreach Coordinator. She is a member of Freedom House Church and lives in the area with her husband, Barry. Missie comes to us from Missouri, having moved here after Katrina. She is filled with a warm, gentleness and compassion and has a heart for serving others. She is bright and creative and adds a distinct flair to everything she does. Come and "see" what the "show me" state has brought us. Betty Keating Betty is our Spiritual Mother’s Coordinator. She has been a member of Freedom House Church for 50 plus years. She is married to Donald and has raised 5 children. They have 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Betty recently retired as Bus Driver from the St. Tammany Parish School System only to find herself involved in every area of ministry in our church. Donald and Betty are Life Net Leaders. She has been a natural mother many times over and a true Spiritual mother to many. Join us and let her gentle words of wisdom encourage you!
